The Private School/Daycare Process

Little Texas Talkers offers onsite speech-language screenings for preschool students ages 2- 6 years old? If you have parents concerned about speech and language development (e.g., late talkers, children who are difficult to understand, children using fewer words than their peers, or students who demonstrate challenges following directions, or retelling stories) we can administer a quick 15 to 20- minute screening to assess whether or not a full speech-language evaluation is warranted.

How does my student participate?

Parents will need to complete Consent to Screen Form prior to the screening session and the campus will need to provide a quiet space for the screenings to occur.

What is the Cost?

The fee is $30 per screening. This includes approximately 20-minutes of one-on-one screening time with the therapist and the child. After the screening is completed parents will receive a brief write-up of their child’s results indicating if further testing is required or not. The fee is billed directly to the parents.

What if an evaluation is recommended following the screening?

If an evaluation is warranted the full evaluation may take place at the campus or at the student’s home.

What if therapy is recommended following the full-evaluation?

If therapy is warranted following the evaluation, Little Texas Talkers will come to the student’s campus to provide the recommended services, sessions fees apply however travel fees do not. Parents will be kept informed of their child’s progress on a weekly basis.
